Erythromycin

Erythrocin ® (erythromycin stearate and lactobionate) and Erythroped ® (erythromycin ethylsuccinate) are salts and esters of the broad-spectrum antibiotic erythromycin. Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic, which has an antimicrobial spectrum similar to or slightly wider than that of penicillin, and is often used for people who have an allergy to penicillins. It was first launched in 1952 and remains one of the world's most widely used antibiotics.
